Where: Zoom

When: September 18, 2024 12-1:30 p.m.

Description: This presentation is designed to support clinicians who are uncertain about how to interact with potential transgender or genderqueer patients. The goal of the presentation is to reduce clinician anxiety and increase clinician flexibility by familiarizing care providers with appropriate terminology, demographic collection practices 2 , and techniques for developing rapport with transgender or genderqueer patients.

Objectives:  Articulate the difference between sex, gender and gender identity and sexual preference. Introduce themselves using their own personal pronoun preference and ask for another person’s pronoun preference. Develop a demographic collection tool that fits their practice goals while respecting trans and queer identity categories. Demonstrate good apology technique.

Cost: $10 for Student/Associate members, $20 for SBCAMFT members, $25 for all State CAMFT members, and $30 for Non-SBCAMFT members (Join now!)
