Pre-licensed Support & Events
Message from Pre-licensed Committee Chair, Annie Finch Hello Pre-licensed community! I am Annie Finch, your Director or Pre-licensing at SBCAMFT and I am excited to share with you some upcoming opportunities for the community. First up, we have an ongoing monthly Pre-Licensed Peer Support Group that meets over Zoom on a monthly basis (First Friday of the month at 10am). This is a great way to connect, ask questions, and hear from special guest speakers on all things Pre-licensed. We are always looking for members to join our Pre-licensed Committee who will help with planning and hosting events, bringing new ideas to the SB CAMFT Board, and anything else that would be helpful for this community. You can email me at prelicensed@sbcamft.org with a quick blurb about why you want to join and your resume. Hope to see you all out there, Annie Finch Annie Finch (she/her), AMFT Pre-Licensed Director, SBCAMFT |

PAST INFORMATION:
SBCAMFT is pleased to announce that, for the first time ever, we will be offering two scholarship awards for Pre-Licensed Associates, Trainees, and Students who are Therapists of Color. Applicants must be Santa Barbara County Residents to be eligible for award.
The 2023 BIPOC Pre-Licensed Scholarship will be awarded $1,000 to two recipients who will also receive a free year of membership to State CAMFT and SBCAMFT. The application period opens on August 1st, 2023 and the last day to apply is September 1st, 2023. Recipients will be selected at random to minimize selection bias and ensure fairness and equity.
The $1,000 award can be used at the recipient’s discretion based on their own individual needs (whether it be for BBS fees, testing materials, memberships, living expenses, etc.). Confirmation for what the award money is used for will not be required.
Scholarship recipients will be selected through random selection and will be announced at the SBCAMFT Holiday Party on December 7, 2023, and then notified via email the following day.
