Join Us for Hike Therapy at Cold Springs Trail – Hosted by SBCAMFT!

The Santa Barbara Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (SBCAMFT) invites you to an invigorating Hike Therapy experience, hosted by SBCAMFT Board Member and fellow therapist. This scenic, moderate-level hike offers a chance to connect with nature, engage in gentle movement, and enjoy casual conversations with peers — the perfect way to nourish both mind and body while building community.

Event Details:
Date: Sunday, March 16, 2025
Time: 7:30 AM sharp
Meeting Location: Cold Spring Trail Bridge (see below for location details)
Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours
Cost: Free for all participants

Where to Meet:
We’ll gather at the Cold Spring Trail Bridge, located at the Cold Spring Trailhead on East Mountain Drive in Montecito. The closest mappable address is:
799 E Mountain Drive
Montecito, CA 93108

This bridge spans Cold Spring Creek and serves as the main entry point to the Cold Spring Trail Loop. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow time for parking and check-in.

Street parking is available along East Mountain Drive, but it may fill up quickly, so carpooling is encouraged.

About the Event:
Hike Therapy blends mindful movement, nature connection, and professional community building. This event is suitable for all levels, though participants should be comfortable with moderate elevation changes and uneven terrain.

What to Expect:

  • A moderate-level, 1.5-hour hike through the beautiful Cold Springs Trail Loop, with scenic views and peaceful surroundings.

  • Opportunities for mindfulness, reflection, and casual networking with fellow SBCAMFT members and guests.

  • A rejuvenating morning outdoors to clear your mind, recharge, and connect with colleagues in a relaxed, natural setting.

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable hiking shoes with good traction

  • Water bottle

  • Layers for cool morning weather

  • Sunscreen and hat (optional)

  • Small snack if desired

Registration, Questionnaire & Required Liability Waiver
To ensure a smooth check-in process and to keep this event safe for all, participants must complete the SBCAMFT Physical Activity Liability Waiver and email it prior to the event.

Waivers must be submitted via email before arrival so we can confirm all paperwork is complete and focus on enjoying the hike together.
