Description: 

Religious trauma is an increasingly recognized area within therapeutic practice. This seminar aims to provide therapists with essential tools and insights for effectively addressing and supporting individuals recovering from religious trauma. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, this seminar will enhance therapists' abilities to facilitate healing and personal growth in this specialized area.

Learning Objectives: 

1) Participants will be able to articulate the psychological, emotional, and social effects of religious trauma and recognize symptoms in clients.

2) Therapists will gain insights into different approaches for conceptualizing and addressing religious trauma, allowing them to integrate these models into their practice.

3) Participants will learn and practice specific therapeutic interventions and strategies tailored to clients recovering from religious trauma, including trauma-informed care practices.

4) Participants will be better equipped to understand and respect diverse religious backgrounds and the personal significance of clients' experiences, promoting a more inclusive therapeutic environment.

5) Therapists will be able to identify and manage their own biases and beliefs, ensuring they provide unbiased and empathetic support to clients.

6) Therapists will gain practical experience in analyzing and addressing religious trauma through case studies, enhancing their problem-solving and clinical skills.

Additional Notes Pertaining To Our Policy As A CE Provider:

1) This course has been designed for a mental health professional that include LMFT's, LCSW's, LPCC's, and LEP's. Also, Pre-licensed and Associate members may earn hours of experience for attending the Santa Barbara Chapter of CAMFT workshops as approved by their supervisor.

2) Refund/Cancellation Policy: Attendees may cancel registration and request a refund one week from the time of the event.

5) Course Completion Certificates will be awarded at the end of the course in exchange for a completed evaluation form.

8) Santa Barbara Chapter CAMFT is Approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFT's, LCSW's, LPCC's, and LEP's. Santa Barbara Chapter of CAMFT maintains responsibility for this program/course and content.
