I am a licensed marriage and family therapist working with individuals, couples and families and orient therapy from an attachment perspective.
Having received extensive and ongoing training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT),I practice principally from this model.
The strength of EFT comes from it's clinical verifiable basis in John Bowlby's attachment theory.
Many behaviors from within a couple relationship or expressed individually reflect secure attachment inter-relating. In the context of therapy, it becomes far easier for clients to effect change when their attachment needs are clear and revealed openly to either the partner or the therapist. Change then proceeds more certainly as the obstacles of hidden emotion and needs are set aside and choice and self-agency becomes more defined. Options for change are more easily accessed and acted upon.
