Webinar Description:

Ever wonder why a lawyer’s favorite answer to just about any legal question is: “it depends”? Complex legal rules often create “gray area” scenarios which can be difficult to navigate without adequate guidance. In this three hour workshop, CAMFT staff attorney Bradley Muldrow, Esq. will provide helpful tips for navigating three law and ethics topics that are well known for encompassing multiple gray areas: dual relationships, coaching considerations for therapists, and soliciting reviews and testimonials from patients.

Educational Goals:

Participants will learn how to recognize and navigate issues involving dual/multiple relationships. Participants will understand key legal and ethical issues therapists should consider when offering coaching services (in addition to their therapy services). Participants will recognize how the CAMFT Code of Ethics has changed to allow MFTs to solicit testimonials, and impliedly reviews, from certain patients, in appropriate circumstances.
