About The Event
Diversity Book Club: Decolonizing Therapy
SBCAMFT’s Diversity Subcommittee is inviting you to join the Diversity Book Club!

The Diversity Book Club meets once monthly for intentional conversation on Dr. Jennifer Mullan’s trailblazing book Decolonizing Therapy: Oppression, Historical Trauma, and Politicizing Your Practice. As part of our commitment to accessibility, SBCAMFT will be providing a copy of the book to members who need one. Moving through one chapter at a time, we’ll explore how colonization and systemic oppression have shaped the field of psychology, while reflecting on how our own histories, identities, and lived experiences inform the ways we understand healing. Each gathering will offer space for reflection, dialogue, and ceremony — supporting deeper awareness and meaningful change in both our personal and professional lives.
This group isn’t centered on intellectual critique or finding the “right” answers.
